We are a Baptist church serving Santee and east San Diego county.
God Cares About You!
God demonstrates His own love toward us in that while we were still sinners Christ died for us. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned, each one, to his own way, and the Lord has laid on him the wickedness of us all. He was wounded for our transgressions; He was bruised for our sinfulness. He was punished for our sins so that we could have peace with God. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. He who believes in the Son has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.
Our goal is to exalt the Lord Jesus Christ as God the Creator, the second person of the Trinity, the virgin-born, one and only Savior of the world who died as a substitutionary sacrifice, and rose from the dead in order to satisfy the just death penalty for the sins of all people everywhere. (Yes, that’s a mouthful, and something none of us will fully appreciate until we get to heaven.)
Next, we want you to know that you can have salvation from your own sins; you can have a brand new life here on earth, and you can escape hell and gain heaven by trusting in Christ alone to save you. Ask Him; He’s never turned anyone away!
At the point of your salvation, God makes you a part of His Church, or what the Bible calls the Body of Christ; that’s us. We are united to Christ, and to one another, by the Holy Spirit who lives in each of us. That makes us closer than family; and that’s what you will find when you visit us. We love one another, and we are having a great time serving together.
Answers to FAQ’s: Average Sunday attendance is about 90. We do have an evening service. We do have a broad demographic mix. Congregational music is primarily hymns (both old and new); instrumentation includes piano, upright bass, acoustic guitar, mandolin, and fiddle. We do tend to place a strong emphasis on learning the Bible; we try to teach the Scriptures as precisely as possible, then make an accurate, practical application to our contemporary situation. And while we do take our responsibilities seriously, we try not to take ourselves too seriously. We believe the church ought to be a place of joy, encouragement, and real, lasting friendships.
We invite you to visit us soon; until then, may God bless you!
